Every Comment that includes more than ZERO links is held for moderation – and then marked by me as SPAM. I don’t allow Spam comments to be published. So save yourself (and me) the time of trouble.

This is my personal blog and will NOT be used to advertise your cheap drugs, Russian brides, or other crap. Plus, any IP that shows up more than once gets banned altogether.

I suppose I could block Comments altogether, but I don’t want to – if friends or other legit readers want to leave one – I want to hear those.

I have turned on my spam filter – you don’t have a chance. So keep spamming away and waste your time – I’m NOT going to allow you to use my blog to advertise your crap. Anything that makes it through gets deleted as soon as I see it, as I’m continuously improving the spam trap.

Spam really pisses me off.

And I’m happy to report it’s working – the last 10 of your posts went straight into the spam trap.

I win, SUCKER!!!!

The main topic last week, of course, was all the important stuff that I had in my purse and that was now who knows in whose hands. The most important thing is the Green Card. It costs $370 to replace that thing. Next would be my German Passport – and at that time, I still thought it would be pretty simple to replace that one.

We assume that the crocks did the same thing with my purse they did with Eric’s wallet – find no money and toss it out the window. So we decided to go out Saturday morning and search along the roads and highways – starting about here:
View Larger Map that they may have traveled some more.

Since I was on vacation 3 days last week, the original plan for today was to get back to work, and after dropping the last Graduation guest off at the airport, having a long spell or normal life. But life apparently isn’t always playing by the rules. So yesterday, instead of doing groceries, laundry, mopping kitchen, and hanging out at the pool, we did groceries, got mugged, dealt with the police, bought and installed new locks, did laundry, and pool. It wasn’t enough to calm my nerves – but it helped.

Today, instead of going to work, rolling up my sleeves (figure of speech – it’s summer in Texas, I’m sleeveless) and catching up, we were at the DMV right at 8, and the line was out the building and down the whole side-walk. Fun fun. All I had for ID was the card the cops gave me with our case number scribbled in pencil, and a printout of a jpg scan of my stolen Green Card I had.

We got up shortly after 4 this morning, as we had to take my mother-in-law to the airport. She and my brother-in-law, who left Friday, had been here for Phillip’s High School Graduation this past Tuesday. We usually do our weekly grocery run Sunday morning and decided to go straight from the Airport to Walmart before everybody else got there and it got crowded. We probably arrived around 6:40 AM or so, did our usual, and had just loaded the first couple bags of stuff into the back of Eric’s Sequoia, when I heard a car and a man’s voice behind me saying ‘Ma’m’. I turned around expecting to be asked for directions or the time, but instead saw two guys with dark bandannas covering their faces, the driver also holding a small, silver handgun, asking for my purse and Eric’s wallet. My first thought was that this must be some kind of joke, but the second thought, luckily not far behind, disagreed. I did ask if I could keep my car keys (I only have one set, and I imagine it’s all kinds of a PITA to get a new one – and I wouldn’t be driving anywhere with my car while I waited for them….) but the guy said ‘no’. How rude. I did remember that the rule is to just give the crooks whatever they want, so I thought I probably should and gave them my purse. Eric tossed his wallet in the cab and threw a handful of bills behind them. He thinks he may have had about THREE (it looked more like five to me :-) !!) I had absolutely no cash in my purse aside from maybe a few pennies. But my debit card, a few credit cards, my driver’s license, green card, German passport, medical cards, library card, Sam’s Club membership card, several lip sticks, one earring (the other one is at home – what the hell am I going to do with that orphan now????) — my cell phone, the house keys, my employee ID card, and who knows what else, were in there.
